Its such a simple and common question that people ask each other..
The first question anyone asks when one meets a friend/acquaintance/colleague is,
Hey, how are you doing. And the standard reply one gets is,
Doing good, how are you.
But we all know, that the answer, doing good, generally cant be any further from the truth. Many a times, the person answering the question is facing problems in his life/maybe a bad boss, a bad relation, a bad spouse or maybe a bad hair day. But the answer one hears, is I am doing good. And many a times, the one who asks the question also asks it more of as an ice breaker and doesnt really care if the other person is doing good or bad. On the contrary, if the person says I am doing good, one wonders, what the heck, my life is sucks, hw can yours be good ?
I wonder, why is it that people ask the question, how are you doing when no one, the one who asks and the one who answers is really interested?

Frankly I may not like to bump into a person whom I ask "how are you" and he actually tells me how he is :-). That's why in Mumbai we greet more like "Wot Says"
